Last updated 27 August 2026 · not a filing

₹1.5 lakh, fifteen years, a rate that moves

PPF deposit band ₹500–₹1.5 lakh per FY. Default tenor 15 years. Interest is notified, not a bank FD brochure. This sketch compounds the annual deposit once a year; the real account looks at monthly lowest balance after the 5th.

Worked example: ₹1.5 lakh every year, 15 years, 7.1%

Deposit ₹22.5 lakh. Ending corpus is higher by compounded interest. If you deposit on the 6th every month in real life, you will undershoot this sketch. Deposit on the 1st if you care.
